The Roosterz en Amnesty International Afgelopen zondag hebben we in samenwerking met Amnesty International op het podium actie gevoerd tegen de "regering" van Myanmar (vroegere Birma). Voor onze optreden ging rapper Rock Lee het podium op om een nummer te zingen over zijn land en tegen de onderdrukking van zijn landgenoten. Hij zelf is uit zijn land gevlucht wegens andere politieke opvattingen. Tijdens ons optreden, voordat we Prince of Peace speelden, kwam een vertegenwoordiger van Amnesty op het podium om aan het publiek uit te leggen wat er allemaal in Myanmar gaande is. Na zijn speech werden er veel balonnen los gelaten als protest tegen het martelen en gevangen houden van studenten die op de zelfde manier ook in hun land geprotesteerd hebben.

Last Sunday we worked together on stage with Amnesty International against the "goverment" of Myanmar (also known as Birma). Before we played, Rock Lee performed with a song about his land and against the opression in his country. He is one of the many who could run away from this dictatorship, only because he has diferent political ideas. During our show, and before we played Prince of Peace, Amnesty International came on the stage to explain everybody about what's going on in Myanmar. After the speech many people let go baloons through the air as a protest againt torture and imprisonement of studants of Myanmar that protested the same way in their country. |

The Roosterz op het Full Colour Festival in Emmen Op 29 augustus zullen wij in Emmen bij het Full Colour Festival spelen, het is voor ons een eer om hier aan mee te mogen doen. Voor de meesten van ons is het een "thuis wedstrijd" en daar hebben we zeker veel zin in... The Roosterz at the Full Colour Festival in Emmen, NL. On the 29th of August we will be playing at the Full Colour Festival in the city of Emmen in The Netherlands. It is an honour for us to have the chance to play here, and for the most of us it's just like coming home, we are looking forward to this day... |

Met net een optreden achter de rug in Belfast (IRL) zullen we komende maandag, 19 juli, spelen op de Dieverse Zomermarkt in, je raad het al, Diever. Deze 2de zomermarkt in Diever is betiteld als 'Zwoele zomermarkt'. Met mooi weer in't vooruitzicht een prima gelegenheid om lekker over de markt te lopen. Er zal een salsa-demonstratie worden gegeven en wij zullen op het podium verschijnen tussen 19.30 en 20uur om de zwoele zomermarkt af te sluiten met heerlijke reggae en ska-nummers.

17 juli treden wij op in Belfast (Noord Ierland), dit wordt onze eerste show in het buitenland ! Het ARWC (Anti-Racism World Cup) is een jaarlijks meerdaags terugkerend festival in Belfast waar veel teams uit verschillende landen tegen elkaar voetballen. Daarnaast is veel aandacht voor onderdrukte volkeren op onze planeet en natuurlijk muziek.
Voor ons zal het een bijzonder ervaring worden. Voor meer info zie www.antiracismworldcup.com
On Juli 17th we will be playing a gig in Belfast (North Ireland), and this will be our first gig outside Holland. The ARWC (Anti-Racism World Cup) is a festival where many teams from across the world play a tournement against eachother. Besides that there is a special attention for suppressed people all over the world, and offcourse music too. |
